Today, you’ll fly from Addis Ababa to Arba Minch via Bole Airport. The town’s name means “forty springs” in Amharic, a nod to the countless local springs that create a lush groundwater forest. From there, embark on a scenic excursion to Chencha, a serene mountain village home to the Dorze people, famed for their cotton weaving (especially the traditional Shamma fabric) and their extraordinary beehive-shaped houses crafted from woven thatch. After immersing yourself in Dorze culture learning about their weaving techniques and daily life you’ll drive back to Arba Minch for an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 3:

Boat trip at Lake Chamo and Drive to Konso

In the morning, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Chamo in the Rift Valley, where you’ll spot huge crocodiles, hippos, and a rich variety of birdlife. Glide across the shimmering waters, taking in panoramic views of tranquil shores and distant horizons, while hippos bask lazily and vibrant birds dance overhead. After soaking in the lake’s wildlife and scenery, you’ll return to shore with a deeper appreciation for Ethiopia’s natural beauty. Later, depart Arba Minch and drive south to Konso.

Day 4:

Visit Konso Village/Drive Konso - Turmi

After breakfast, visit Konso village, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its deep cultural heritage. The Konso people live on low terraced hills, cultivating some of Ethiopia’s finest coffee on meticulously sloped terraces. Wander through their vibrant villages to witness their traditional way of life and skilled craftsmanship. Later, drive 210 km (about 4 hours) south to Turmi, passing stunning landscapes and diverse Omo Valley tribes. Upon arrival, check into your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 5:

Excursion to Omoratte, Excursion to Murulle and and Hammer Village

After an early breakfast, enjoy an excursion to Omoratte to visit a Hamer village and meet the Dassenech (Geleb) people of the arid Lower Omo River Valley and Lake Turkana one of the valley's largest tribes, adapted to the harsh desert with ancient pastoral traditions. Later, go to Murulle to see the Karo people, fewer than 1,000 in number, the main non‑nomadic farmers here, known for daily body painting with colored ochre, chalk, charcoal, and iron ore as a form of communication and decoration. In the late evening, visit the Hamer people: women wear leather skirts with pearls; both genders feature high cheekbones, beads, intricate hair, and copper necklaces. Join a traditional coffee ceremony roasting, grinding, brewing over fire with storytelling a warm gesture of hospitality.
